Here's
a little tutorial on how to back up your systems Registry keys before
you make any changes.
Make
sure you back them up on a separate storage space so you don't lose
them if you break something while editing the Registry.
You
can backup separate keys or the whole system registry.
- Open the registry edit by pressing Win+R this will open the RUN box(just like the image above), then just type regedit in this box and press enter.
- Locate and click on the key you would like to backup.
- Then click the File menu and click on Export.
- This opens a window asking you where to save it and to give it a name, then just click save.
If
you want to back up the whole of registry then click on Computer and
repeat steps 3-4, the only difference is that there's a little check
box you want to click called Save All.
To
reinstall the registry keys you have backed up repeat steps 1-3 but
click Import instead of Export. Locate your backup and click ok.
